What Is a Plot-in-a-Box?

xxxxxWHAT'S IN THE BOX?!

xxxxxA story, already made and ready to go! Many players never tell stories, and there are numerous reasons why - they're shy, they can't think of anything to tell, they don't handle crowds well, they aren't comfortable running combat, and many more. So we've created Plots-in-a-Box to help. While it won't cure shyness or make you instantly comfy with running combat, it gives you a story where the basics are already assembled and tools to tell it. You can even ask a Director to oversee the dice when Kill Scenes come up.

xxxxxPlots-in-a-Box come with an overview of the story, history on the Monster and any Supporting Roles included, details on the Monster and Stats for the Supporting Roles, an outline of story progression, hooks to get people involved, and ideas for how to expand on what's already included. It's like an old D&D module - it has everything you need to tell a story with minimal work and stress on your part.

xxxxxBelow is a list of the current Plots-in-a-Box just waiting to be claimed. If you see one you like, let Showgirls know.

Plot-in-a-Box 01: Sorority Slaughterhouse

xxxxxWhat begins as another party at the Sorority house turns strange when several girls start getting unusual texts from a stranger. When the texts turn from odd to frightening and party-goers start disappearing (or worse), who will survive the night?

xxxxxThis plot is a one-night story set at a Sorority house. Characters can be members of the Sorority, other female friends, and guys attending the party. You may want an assistant to help run the party as it'll branch into different rooms.

Comes with: Multiple Supporting Roles to emit as party-goers (and victims!), and a Monster.

Kill Scene Risk: Very High

Inspirations: Black Christmas, Slumber Party Massacre, Scream

Plot-in-a-Box 02: Maniac

xxxxxSomeone has escaped from the psychiatric ward in Lynn and made their way to the island. The unhealthy obsession they form with a few specific locals means nothing good, and soon the targets of the stalker will be struggling to stay alive.

xxxxxThis plot is an ongoing story built around the players that can take a few scenes, or even longer, depending on the Director's and players' wishes. It's meant to build tension and ramp up with suspense. Kill Scenes may be solo, so be careful.

Comes with: 1 Monster.

Kill Scene Risk: High, due to potential for solo Kill Scenes.

Inspirations: Halloween, Cape Fear

Plot-in-a-Box 03: Don't Sleep

xxxxxRe-purposed into Season One: Sins of the Past

Plot-in-a-Box 04: The Doll
